About /

The new boutique hotel on High Street aims to link four distinct neighborhoods while addressing the need for hotel space in a predominantly residential area. Inspired by the design language of the adjacent Northside Library, the hotel will feature 110 keys and a unique “switchback” massing. This innovative design approach not only maximizes the constrained land area to meet code minimum parking but also creates a vibrant, walkable block.

Through an intensive design process, nine schemes were developed in a graphic novel style to reflect the client’s artistic vision. The resulting structure steps down in a series of rotated bars, mirroring the library and enhancing the area’s newly zoned height. This design provides stunning views of downtown Columbus and The Ohio State University, along with inviting outdoor terraces that encourage street-level activity.

The hotel will act as a crucial piece of connective tissue along High Street, catalyzing a vibrant urban corner and extending the retail and public environment upward. This project promises to create a dynamic, interconnected community space, enriching the urban corridor with its thoughtful design and strategic placement.
